Fortnite Showdown Leaderboard LATEST: New Solo Standings for free V-Bucks hunters

The development team have taken their first step toward incorporating a competitive mode into the popular Battle Royale game.

While something new will be announced in the coming weeks, fans currently have the Fortnite Solo Showdown LTM to enjoy.

It provides a new way for the best players to grab free V-Bucks, meaning a lot of in-game currency for those skilled enough to rank.

Awards for the top 100 players who play the mode includes:

1st Place: 50,000 V-Bucks

2nd - 4th Place: 25,000 V-Bucks

5th – 50th Place: 13,500 V-Bucks

51st – 100th Place: 7,500 V-Bucks

And there's probably a lot of Fortnite players trying to get high enough just to get a taste of those free V-Bucks.

Epic Games recently updated their Fortnite Solo Showdown Leaderboards, confirming who is currently in the running for prizes.

The Solo Showdown mode is only running until Tuesday, May 21, meaning this weekend will be a very busy time.

The current top 50 Solo Showdown players can be found below and is likely set to change over the next few days.

FORTNITE SOLO SHOWDOWN RULES

When it comes to the scoring system, finishing first place within a match will award you 100 points while finishing 20th place within a match will award you 50 points.

Here's more from Epic Games, who confirm: "Unlike other LTMs, Solo Showdown will not change core gameplay of the current Solo mode.

"Instead, you will be placed against other self-selected competitors making this the ultimate test of survival.

"Top performers will be rewarded at the conclusion of this competition."

"We'll be using the Solo Showdown as a one-off stepping stone to learn how to build great events for all types of players," Epic Games adds.

"If you crave testing and improving your own skills, give it a try and let us know what you think. To thank you for participating, play 50 games and get a unique spray."

Placements in this limited time mode will be specially tracked and determine rewards you receive at the end of the event. The top 100 players will be awarded.

Your first 50 matches in the Solo Showdown LTM will be counted towards your Score. You must play 50 Solo Showdown LTM matches to be eligible for a prize.
